Of the many healthy foods that nature provides us with, there are a few that are beneficial to enhance our brain. Our body reacts to our mind thus it is essential to properly nourish our brain for optimal results- both mentally and physically. There are 8 foods, and one drink that I recommend- including, avocados, blueberries, walnuts, broccoli, eggs, salmon, ginger, dark chocolate, and water. Many of these make for great meals, while some make for perfect snacks.
- Avocados, being a monounsaturated fat, helps reduce high blood pressure, reducing cognitive decline.
- Blueberries, a fruit, are high in antioxidants- helps to balance free radicals which works to counteract oxidative stress.
- Walnuts contain omega-3 fatty acids and polyphenols which help with oxidative stress and inflammation.
- Broccoli, a vegetable, contains Vitamin K, Lutein and Beta Carotene- which can help with vision.
- Eggs, high in protein, contain choline, which works to reduce inflammation and helps to preserve memory.
- Salmon contains omega-3 fatty acids, which helps with oxygen flow.
- Ginger contains curcumin- which works as an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, as well as helps to improve mood and memory.
- Dark Chocolate contains flavonoids- which helps to improve cognitive function.
- While not a food, Water helps to rid toxins and dead cells from our body- helping to regulate stress and anxiety, as well as assists in speeding up our metabolism.
